PRESIDIANS IMPROVE DICTION THROUGH A DECLAMATION COMPETITION
Declamation refers to one’s capacity of communicating with others, through exact speech and
gestures. To enhance the oratory skills of the students an ‘Inter-Class Declamation Competition’
was conducted in the school wherein students from Grades 6 to 8 faced the audience with confidence and delivered their speech with correct diction, clarity and voice modulation. Students spoke with charisma and a positive thought which established a connection with the listeners.

PRESIDIUM WALK ON THE PATH OF PEACE & HARMONY ON BUDDHA PURNIMA
Presidium Raj Nagar celebrated Buddha Purnima on 18th May. Through the celebration we imparted that the festival of Buddha Purnima is traditionally celebrated to commemorate the birth of Siddhartha
Gautama, who later became Gautama Buddha and went on to become the founder of Buddhism.
The celebration began with the reverberating sound of the morning prayer followed by a song which motivated each and every child to be optimistic. Students were shown the acts showcasing how this day celebrates Siddhartha’s choice to embrace a spiritual quest wherein he renounced all worldly pleasures to become a holy man. They also represented a Dance-Drama in front of everyone which was followed by the Teachings of Lord Buddha. The celebration ended with the chanting of the Divine Mantra “Buddham-Sharnam-Gachchami”.
“CHITRA VARNAN” ACTIVITY: A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS!
Presidium Raj Nagar conducted an activity named “Chitra Varnan” for the students of Grade 4, where in the students were shown some pictures and they had to describe the picture as per their perception.
Pictures or images provide another way of presenting information, and increasing understanding.
Students were taught some of the tips to describe the picture and they skillfully adapted the methods
taught to them by their teachers in the class. Each student made sure that their picture description is
logically structured, for example: from left to right (or from right to left), from the background to the
foreground (or from the foreground to the background), from the middle to the sides (or from the sides
to the middle), from details to general impressions (or from general impressions to details). Which
structure the students finally opted for depended on their temperament and how they perceive what
was shown to them.
INTERACTIVE MAP ACTIVITY MAKES LEARNING GEOGRAPHY INTRIGUING
“There is an eternal landscape, a geography of the soul; we search for its outlines all our lives.”
Students at Presidium Raj Nagar were engaged in an interactive Map Activity which was conducted as part of their Geography Curriculum. Maps not only help the students understand the territorial borders but also help them reinforce the theoretical concepts in a fun way. Students were able to visualise every region discussed during the activity which led to a better learning process altogether.
PRESIDIANS EXPRESS GRATITUDE TO THEIR MOTHERS ON MOTHER’S DAY

A WONDERFUL DISPLAY OF CONFIDENCE AT RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION
Rhymes enjoy an undisputed importance in the life of a kindergartener. Teaching of nursery rhymes not only develops speaking skills but also helps express their feelings through facial expression and gestures. Understanding poems makes a child sensitive and reciting the same makes them creative. A strong performance is one in which the meaning of the poem is powerfully and clearly conveyed to the audience. This was displayed beautifully by the students of grades Nursery and Prep, when they participated in English & Hindi Rhyme Competition, held at Presidium School, Raj Nagar. The students made all the characters of each rhyme come alive. They enthralled their teachers and friends with their memory skills while reciting rhymes and ended the competition with a beautiful group dance. It was an excellent opportunity for them to gain confidence through stage exposure.
