A health workshop was organized in Presidium for students to spread awareness about the adverse effects of junk and packaged foods. Students were explained about how artificial flavouring substances and strong preservatives constitute a significant part of ingredients in all packaged foods to increase their shelf life. The students were motivated to avoid junk food and live a healthy lifestyle. The workshop ended delivering an important message that “the food we eat can either be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.”

The fields witnessed a series of athletic and outdoor sports events paving their way for the selection of the best contenders. Amidst the thrill and fierce competition, students competed with an unprecedented effort to reach to the finals. The day was filled with excitement as students participated in different events. The air was filled with an applause of appreciation for the winners who will now be competing in the Annual Sports Day.

NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY: EDUCATION IS THE SOURCE OF POWER PROGRESS

National Education Day of India is celebrated on 11 November every year in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. With an aim to keep up with this spirit of Education Day, Presidium celebrated this day with grandeur and solemnity. The celebrations began with a zestful participation of students of grades 1-3 in a special assembly wherein they presented their talent on the stage. They presented speech on education day and highlighted its importance through various performances. This motivated the young leaders of tomorrow to keep up with the spirit of the education and take themselves to the path of success and prosperity with their hard work and perseverance.

DEBATE COMPETITION ENHANCES PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS OF PRESIDIANS

Presidium organized an Inter- Class English Debate Competition to enhance public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be persuasive while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The students of grades 6-8 made their arguments more emphatic with the right facial expressions, body movements, and gestures. Later, a question round was organized for an impactful discussion wherein the audience also got an opportunity to augment their knowledge.

SHOW AND TELL COMPETITION GIVE WINGS TO PRESIDIANS’ IMAGINATION

Presidium organized a ‘Show and Tell Competition’ to develop social, emotional and language skills in students. It gave Presidians a chance to think out of the box to speak on various topics like a favourite toy, pen, toothbrush, earth, etc which help them to gain confidence, improve their vocabulary and public speaking skills. As an endeavor to solidify the bond of oneness and unification, the country celebrates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as National Unity Day. On this occasion, students of grades 4-8 presented a special assembly. The program started with a prayer and a beautiful thought for the day followed by an impressive speech on the life, history and the role of Sardar Patel in the freedom struggle to establish a harmonious society. The young Presidians also presented a beautiful poem and a melodious song to spread the message of unity.

Diwali symbolises the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance." On this occasion, students of grades 4-8 presented a special assembly. The Presidians presented a beautiful skit to spread the brightness and happiness of Diwali, followed by a dance and song. A message related to the safety and to protect the environment from the harmful effects of crackers during this festival was also conveyed to the students during the assembly. TALENT HUNT COMPETITION GIVE WINGS TO PRESIDIANS’ DREAMS

A Talent Hunt competition was organized in Presidium to encourage students to come forward and show their hidden talents. The idea behind organising this competition is to nurture the intrinsic qualities of students and remove stage fright among students. Students exhibit their talent through dances, poem recitation, story-telling, mono-acting, playing an instrument and singing competition. It is joyful and overwhelming to witness such efforts put in by the students.

UN DAY: YOUNG INTELLECTUALS PARTICIPATE IN ‘UNITED DAY QUIZ’

Exactly 72 years ago from today, in 1945, the United Nations officially came into being. The UN Charter was started with the promise to be "devoted to making known to the people of the world the aims and achievements of the United Nations and to gain their support for its work." From then on, October 24th is celebrated as United Nations Day every year. Presidium organized a 'United Day Quiz' to celebrate the essence of this day and to revive the knowledge gained by the students about the UN in the classes.
