CELEBRATING THE GLORY OF SPORTS ON NATIONAL SPORTS DAY

Sports: an integral part of Indian culture and the history of Indian sports dates back to the Vedic era. As per saying in Atharva-Veda, “Duty is in my right hand and the fruits of victory in my left”. By keeping this quote in mind, Presidium inculcates the feeling of sportsmanship in every Presidian. The mantra that Presidians follow coincides with today’s traditional Olympic oath, “For the Honour of my country and the Glory of Sport”.Students of Presidium Raj Nagar celebrated National Sports Day to mark the birth anniversary of Indian hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand, the hockey player who won gold decorations in Olympics for India in the years 1928, 1934 and 1936. A speech was delivered to instil in every Presidian team-spirit which fosters Leadership. Various sports events were conducted in the school premises including Yoga. Students along with the teachers participated with great zeal and enthusiasm in the events. The event proceeded with a vivacious dance performance.

EUPHORIC JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS AT PRESIDIUM

To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated at Presidium by students of Grade Nursery and Prep as well as 4th and 5th . To celebrate the extraordinary bond between the children and the Almighty, Presidium school took the opportunity to both jubilate and learn with young minds. The students dressed up as lord Krishna and Radha. The premise was decorated beautifully and the spirit of festivity was enhanced with jhankis depicting life history of Lord Krishna. The assembly continued with a fancy dress competition in which students gave short message regarding the celebration of janmashtami. The purpose of the flamboyant celebration was to inculcate the value of sharing and respect in students. The main attraction of the celebration was breaking of the treasure filled matki.

SUDHA MA’AM JOINS PRESIDIANS FOR JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS

To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Presidium school Raj Nagar was joined by our Honourable Mrs. Sudha Gupta on Janmashtami. The main aim of the celebration was to spread awareness among the Presidians about the end of darkness and rooting out of the evil forces dominating the earth, which was initiated by the incarnation of Lord Krishna. Students won the heart of Sudha Ma’am by enacting various roles from Sri Krishna’s life. Ma’am blessed all the students on this auspicious day and gave them a message as always, looking ahead instead of reminiscing the past. Her words truly summed up the efficacy of celebration of festivals and showing obedience towards elders and teachers.

STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT ‘CAPACITY’ THROUGH TBL ACTIVITIES

Presidium has always worked towards making learning easy and interesting for the young leaders of tomorrow. One of the best tools to achieve this is learning by doing. Keeping this in mind, various interesting Theme Based Learning activities were recently organized for the students wherein they learned about concepts of capacity. Students enjoyed playing the game Rotating Wheel through which they classified the object that contained more/less water. Further to strengthen their understanding, they did tearing and pasting in order to depict more water in one bottle and less water in another. Learning through such activities made the subject even more interesting.

GRADE 4 LEARNS ABOUT SOLUBLE AND INSOLUBLE MATERIALS

Observation more than books, experience rather than persons, are the prime educators. Keeping this thought in mind, under the Science topic ‘separation of matter’ children of Grade 4 explored the solubility of various substances like salt, sugar, chalk, saw dust and some more
materials. Building up on the same concept miscible and immiscible substances were also demonstrated in the class. Students enjoyed the activity and participated enthusiastically. Over all the activity involved science aptitude, it lead to accomplish the task, at the same time they
developed understanding of soluble and insoluble materials.

In order to scale the heights and reach the Pinnacle of success, Presidium Raj Nagar, always strives to inculcate a sense of responsibility and commitment among the students with their heads held high, ready to shoulder responsibilities as leaders. With the beginning of the new academic session for the year 2019-2020, an Investiture Ceremony was organized. All the young students were well prepared to don the mantle of leadership and responsibility while carrying it out with utmost dedication. The newly elected student council members pledged to work earnestly and uphold the honour and glory of the institution while receiving their prestigious badges and sash from the Chairperson of Presidium, Mrs. Sudha Gupta. The Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captains and House Captains stood tall while holding the school flags and flags of their respective clubs as destiny prepared itself to bring in many more laurels to the institution.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE’19:ACADEMIC PROWESS OF PRESIDIANS RECOGNISED

Our Presidians have yet again made us proud with excelling results in the academic session 2018-19. Their hard work and dedication in the field of academics truly reflected in the form of soaring scores in examinations. To acknowledge these efforts, we hosted the Academic Excellence Awards ceremony. A spirit of unity and dynamism filled the air as the Grand Ceremony commenced with the lighting of the auspicious lamp of knowledge followed by the soulful rendition of the School Prayer. Presidians were then felicitated with certificates and trophies for their outstanding performance in academics by our honourable Chairperson, Mrs.Sudha Gupta. It was a proud moment for all the parents to witness their children being felicitated with such an honour. Sudha Ma’am also encouraged students to always walk on the correct path and become successful in life.

INDULGING STUDENTS IN AN INTERESTING QUADRILATERAL ACTIVITY

Mathematics is not only about numbers, equations, computations or algorithms, it is about
understanding. To inculcate the habit of studying Mathematics while enjoying it at the same time
and to make this understanding deeper, Mathematics subject activity for Grade 9 was conducted. This also helped the teachers to enrich the curriculum practices through some meaningful activity. Under the theme of Quadrilateral, students explored the properties with respect to diagonals of quadrilaterals---a parallelogram, a square, a rectangle and a rhombus. This activity was more focused towards the conceptual clarity of students about quadrilaterals. With different colours of glaze papers students cut different quadrilaterals and folded them along their respective diagonals. After cutting these quadrilaterals, they placed one triangle over the other and observed that the two superimposed triangles are congruent to each other. This helped in removing the Mathematics phobia and made it an enjoyable experience for students.

PRESIDIANS PASS MIND-BOGGLING ROUNDS IN GK QUIZ COMPETITION

An intra-class GK Quiz competition was organized to test the sharpness and recollection power of stored knowledge of the students. The competition was to encourage and motivate the students to be aware of their surroundings and what was happening around them and in the world as a whole. The participants had to go through mazes of intuited and mind blogging rounds consisting of questions related to current affairs, science, sports and many more. Each round of the quiz was truly innovative and engrossing. The students showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. It was very informative and knowledge enriching competition for the participants.

VICE PRESIDENT, SHRI VENKAIAH NAIDU BLESSES PRESIDIANS ON RAKHI

Presidians visited the residence of the Vice President of India, Shri Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu on the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan to tie Rakhi to him on this gracious day. More than 100 School Children from various Schools in Delhi were addressed by The Honourable. This celebration was organised to promote the thought that Rakshabandhan is an ancient Bharatheeya tradition and the festival of Raksha Bandhan, is traditionally a celebration of human bonding between sisters and brothers, has a larger significance for contemporary times and probably for all times. It is a celebration of solidarity, a celebration of unity and a celebration of humanism. The Vice President encouraged students to tie that Rakhi that binds us all together. The following message was imparted that let us forget all the differences that tend to fragment our social fabric.
