‘Your Body is your temple and you should take care of the body as it is the only place you have to live.’ Keeping this in mind and with an objective to create awareness among the students about the importance of intake of fruit in their diet, Presidium Raj Nagar organized the Fruit Salad Activity. Teachers narrated stories about eating right and encouraged the students to include vegetables and fruits in their meals. The students were conveyed the message that eating fruits is important for the mental as well as physical growth. The students learnt about the taste, smell, colour and texture of various fruits and vegetables in a very fun and interesting way.

A map helps us identify the geography of an area without visiting it. Presidium Raj Nagar organized a Map based activity for the students of grade 5 to enhance their knowledge about the geographical aspects of forests in India and their types like Deciduous, Mangrove, Thorn etc. They used the political map of India and shaded the different states as per the specific forests found there. The students engaged in a classroom discussion with the teachers about the different communities that inhabit these forests and their livelihood. The activity helped the students to visualize how things on the ground actually look like.

For being an effective public speaker one must be fluent, erudite and articulate. All of these qualities can be seen during an Extempore and in order to inculcate these qualities among its students, Presidium Raj Nagar organised an Inter-Class ‘English Extempore Competition’ for the students of grade 9. The students had to speak about current affairs and the topics were given on the spot. The judgement criteria included spontaneity, ability to express thoughts, content, fluency, body language and confidence. Presidium Raj Nagar celebrated this beautiful relationship between siblings with fervor and gaiety on the festival of Raksha Bandhan. The event commenced with invoking the blessings of the Lord. The young Presidians performed an enthralling skit depicting the historical significance of the festival. A mesmerising dance was also performed which filled the atmosphere with a festive aura. Recognition of spellings cements the connection between letters and their sound along with improving the reading and writing skills of the students. Keeping this in mind, Presidium Raj Nagar organized an inter-class Spell Bee competition. The competition witnessed enthusiastic and lively participants gracefully acing every round. The motive of the competition was to develop students’ interest in enriching their vocabulary and pronunciation skills to become effective and impressive communicators. Community helpers are people that directly impact the lives of others. Presidium Raj Nagar recently organized a Role Play activity on the community helpers - ‘Work Around Us’ for the students of grade 3. The young Presidians dressed up as community helpers and performed brilliantly in the characters they portrayed. They learned about the tools used by different workmen and also spoke a few lines about the world of the community helper they portrayed. The activity made them familiar and comfortable around the people that make our neighbourhood a better place. It was an exciting activity where students showcased their lingual talent with confidence while imbibe respect for all professions.

Eid-Ul-Adha, the festival of sacrifice and devotion to Almighty, was celebrated at Presidium Raj Nagar with zeal and vigour. The celebrations began with a brief introduction highlighting the cultural and social importance of the festival of Eid. It was followed by an energetic dance performance. There was an aura of pleasant harmony which completely captivated the audience. The assembly was concluded with the students wishing ‘Eid Mubarak’ to all. It was a visual bliss to watch the students perform confidently and their efforts to cherish the traditions of India were pleasantly evident.

‘Action speaks louder than words’ and when you combine both you get a vital learning tool, Role Play. It allows students to explore day-to-day situations by interacting with their peers. To make it even more interesting, the theme and dialogues of the recently conducted role play activity at Presidium Raj Nagar, were in German. Students of grade 6 dressed up in relevant attires and enacted their characters enthusiastically. They enhanced their vocabulary and learned about the grammatical structures of the German language. It was a new and learning experience for the Presidians.

PRESIDIANS HAIL THE LAND OF THE BRAVE ON INDEPENDENCE DAY

The 72nd Independence Day of India was celebrated at Presidium Raj Nagar with a great deal of patriotic zeal and fervour. The event began with the Welcome of the Chief Guest, Shri Akash Tomar, the Superintendent of Police City Ghaziabad. It was soon followed by the release of tricolour balloons fluttering in the air by the guests. The entire school courtyard reverberated with the rhythmic beats of patriotic songs. In the sequel, a speech was delivered by a student of Grade 8 on the glory of the Independence day. A blend of dance and drama that depicted the massacre of Jalianwala Bagh, was also performed by the young Presidians. The programme left everyone inspired to do their bit for the nation and always uphold its values.
