With an aim to build creative expression among the students, Presidium Raj Nagar recently organised a ‘Best out of Waste Activity’ for the students of grade 1 to 3. The students brought reusable items like ice cream sticks, buttons, newspapers and bangles to create wonderful art works. They were also taught about the importance of reusing and recycling items for the protection of mother earth. The beautiful artworks were appreciated by the teachers and the students were applauded for their efforts and creativity.

'BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO': CELEBRATING WORLD GIRL CHILD DAY

The International Day of Girl Child was celebrated by the students of Presidium Raj Nagar by making posters and slogans. Students from Primary classes came together to celebrate the day to show respect for the girl child and make a promise to keep the girls safe and healthy instilling values of care and responsibility. At the special assembly students recited poems and delivered speech on ‘Saving Girl Child’. The atmosphere was charged with a feeling of motivation and respect for others. Students realized how important it was to save and protect a girl child for our present and future. They shared their own views on saving and keeping girl child safe in today’s world. The assembly closed with the singing of the National Anthem.

LEARNING FRENCH GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY WITH SPELL BEE ACTIVITY

An ancient philosopher once said, “One should keep quizzing and testing oneself to enhance their skills and grow their knowledge”. Keeping this in mind, a French Quiz and Spell Bee Activity was organized for the students of grade 8 and 9 to enhance their vocabulary. The activity consisted of various rounds such as visual round, identification of correct spelling and completion of sentences. An audio-visual quiz was conducted wherein a number of multiple choice questions were put up in front of the students to test their vocabulary skills as well as how well they could identify an object presented to them. They were asked to identify the correct spelling and pictures related to French, along with completion of sentences using grammatical concepts. A quiz activity not only enhances the students’ skills but also makes learning interesting.

SHOW AND TELL: PRESIDIANS LEARN THE ART OF PUBLIC SPEAKING

Public speaking plays a vital role in the development of a child to become world-ready citizens who can present their views confidently in front of the world. The young Presidians exhibited their talent of public speaking through a Show And Tell activity. They described one of their favourite things in front of their friends and teachers with confidence and expressions. The ability to express themselves comfortably in front of others shows mental maturity and learning to do so through speaking and reading provides a safe gateway for young children to explore new realms. It was a great learning experience for the young Presidians.

PRESIDIANS ENTHRALL ALL WITH THEIR ELEGANT DANCE MOVES

Presidium Raj Nagar conducted the Happy Feet Dance Competition to hone the dancing skills of the young Presidians. The leaders of tomorrow danced to the tunes of their favourite tracks. The competition helped the students to overcome their hesitation and dance freely. The dance teacher also guided them about the warm up exercises which is important for the flexibility of the body. The ability to express emotion comfortably in front of others shows mental maturity and learning to do so through movement and dance provides a safe gateway for young students to explore and develop cognitive skills.

PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT LADYBIRD UNDER THE TBL THEME-INSECTS

To make students aware of the insects around them in their surroundings, a Lady-Bird making activity was held at Presidium Raj Nagar recently. Teachers of grade 2 took an initiative to enhance the students’ knowledge about lady-bird and its structure under the TBL theme – Insects and its structure. Students were taught to design their own lady-bird using origami sheets and also shared the information they collected about it with their classmates. It was a great learning experience for them. The activity saw enthusiastic participation.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE: DAY TO CELEBRATE PEACE & BROTHERHOOD

Peace Day was celebrated by Presidium Raj Nagar with great zeal and vigour. On the day of the celebration, the students, teachers and staff gathered in a Special Assembly which commenced with the school prayer. Students recited a poem on peace stating ‘All people together proclaim; now there is peace in this land.’ The air reverberated with the feeling of peace in our hearts and minds when the students sang a beautiful song ‘peace in the world’. It ended with an inspirational speech by the Head of School on Gandhi’s famous expression, “Be The Change You Wish To See In The World” and the relevance of peace and non-violence in recent times. Peace Day is marked every year at Presidium Raj Nagar to sensitize the children to the sufferings of war and its impact on humankind and how peace can be a stronger weapon than war.

SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP: YOUNG SPORTS STARS BRING GLORY TO SCHOOL

Sports do not build character, they reveal it. It inculcates discipline and following the rules builds sportsmanship. Young Presidians participated in the 2nd Inter Presidium Skating Championship held at Presidium Dwarka 22, where around 300 Students participated from all the Presidium Branches. Aarav Sharma (Grade 2E) from Presidium Raj Nagar won the Bronze Medal in the 300 meters quads event of the Championship. Congratulations to our proud winner and the mentors!

Hindi is the language of the masses, a language that unites the diversity of a nation like India. To commemorate this glorious language, 14th September is celebrated as Hindi Diwas throughout the nation with great excitement and zeal. Keeping with the tradition, students of Presidium Raj Nagar conducted a special assembly to honour the official language of the nation. Students prepared speeches to highlight the wonderful history of Hindi. A skit was also prepared to pay tribute to the language. The assembly culminated with the students taking a pledge to honour Hindi not just for a single day.
